Uses / Indications
Telma 20mg Tablet is prescribed for:

Hypertension (High Blood Pressure) – helps reduce and maintain normal blood pressure.

Reducing risk of heart attack, stroke, and kidney problems caused by uncontrolled hypertension.

Sometimes used in patients with Type 2 Diabetes & high BP to protect kidney function.
-
May be prescribed as part of combination therapy with other antihypertensives.
Mechanism of Action

Telmisartan is an Angiotensin II Receptor Blocker (ARB).
-
Blocks angiotensin II (a hormone that narrows blood vessels).
-
Causes blood vessels to relax & widen → lowers blood pressure.
-
Improves blood circulation and reduces heart strain.
Dosage & Administration

Usual adult dose: 20 mg once daily.

Dose may be adjusted to 40–80 mg daily depending on patient’s response.

Can be taken with or without food.

Should be taken at the same time each day.

Do not stop suddenly without medical advice.
