Uses / Indications

Betaloc 25mg Tablet is prescribed for:

• Hypertension (High Blood Pressure)

• Angina (Chest Pain due to reduced blood supply to the heart)

Mechanism of Action

• Metoprolol is a Beta-1 Selective Blocker.

• Blocks beta-adrenergic receptors in the heart → slows heart rate → reduces workload on the heart.

• Lowers blood pressure by reducing cardiac output.

• Improves oxygen demand-supply balance in the heart → relieves angina.

Dosage & Administration

• Usual adult dose: 25–100 mg daily (in divided doses).

• 25 mg once or twice daily is a common starting dose.
