Uses / Indications
Clarithro 250 XL Tablet is prescribed for mild to moderate bacterial infections, including:

Respiratory tract infections – bronchitis, pneumonia, sinusitis, tonsillitis, pharyngitis

ENT infections – ear, nose & throat bacterial infections

Skin & soft tissue infections – cellulitis, folliculitis, abscesses, impetigo

Helicobacter pylori infection (as part of triple therapy with PPI + Amoxicillin/Metronidazole)

Mycobacterial infections (including atypical mycobacteria in immunocompromised patients)
Mechanism of Action

Clarithromycin (Macrolide antibiotic):

Binds to 50S ribosomal subunit of bacteria

Inhibits bacterial protein synthesis → stops bacterial growth (bacteriostatic)

Effective against Gram-positive, Gram-negative & atypical bacteria
