Uses / Indications
Cefakind-CV 200 Tablet is prescribed for mild bacterial infections, such as:

Respiratory tract infections: tonsillitis, pharyngitis, sinusitis, mild bronchitis

ENT infections: ear (otitis media), nose & throat infections

Urinary tract infections (UTI) – cystitis

Skin & soft tissue infections: cellulitis, boils, wound infections

Post-operative infections (mild cases)

Mechanism of Action

Cefuroxime (Cephalosporin antibiotic): Inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial death (bactericidal)

Clavulanic Acid (Beta-lactamase inhibitor): Blocks enzymes that cause resistance, making cefuroxime more effective

Combined Effect: Provides broad-spectrum antibacterial activity, effective against resistant strains
Dosage & Administration

Adults & Children >12 years: 1 tablet twice daily, or as prescribed

Children (<12 years): Pediatric suspensions preferred instead of tablets
