Composition

Each rotacap contains:

• Budesonide 100 mcg (Inhaled Corticosteroid – ICS)

Uses / Indications

Foracort Rotacaps 100 are used for:

1. Asthma (mild to moderate) – long-term prevention and control.

2. Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).

3. Chronic bronchitis & emphysema.

4. To reduce frequency of wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, and breathlessness.

How It Works

• Budesonide → reduces inflammation and swelling in the airways.

• Formoterol → relaxes airway muscles for up to 12 hours.

• Combined → provide dual action for better asthma & COPD control.

Dosage (General Guide – only as prescribed by doctor)

• Adults & Children (≥6 years): 1 rotacap twice daily (dose may vary).

• Not for relief of sudden asthma attacks (rescue inhaler like Asthalin is required).

• Must be used only with a Rotahaler device.

How to Use (with Rotahaler)

1. Insert one rotacap into the Rotahaler.

2. Twist to pierce the capsule.

3. Inhale deeply through the mouthpiece.

4. Hold breath for a few seconds, then exhale.

5. Discard empty capsule.

Side Effects

Common: Throat irritation, hoarseness, oral thrush, cough, headache, tremors.
Serious (rare): Chest pain, irregular heartbeat, severe breathing problems, allergic reaction.

Precautions & Warnings

• Not for sudden asthma attacks.

• Rinse mouth after each use to avoid oral thrush.

• Use with caution in heart disease, diabetes, thyroid disorders, infections.

• Do not stop treatment suddenly without medical advice.
