Each rotacap contains:

Uses / Indications

Foracort Rotacaps 400 are prescribed for:

1. Severe persistent asthma – long-term control.

2. Moderate to severe COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease).

3. Chronic bronchitis & emphysema.

4. Prevention of frequent wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, and breathlessness.

How It Works

• Budesonide → reduces airway inflammation, swelling, and irritation.

• Formoterol → relaxes airway smooth muscles, keeps airways open up to 12 hours.

• Combination → dual action for better asthma/COPD management.

Dosage (General Guide – only as prescribed by doctor)

• Adults: Usually 1 rotacap twice daily.

• Not recommended for children unless prescribed.

• Not for acute asthma attacks (use rescue inhaler separately).

• Must be inhaled only with a Rotahaler device.

How to Use

1. Insert rotacap into the Rotahaler.

2. Twist to pierce the capsule.

3. Inhale deeply through the mouthpiece.

4. Hold breath for a few seconds, then exhale.

5. Discard the empty capsule.

Side Effects

Common: Throat irritation, hoarseness, cough, oral thrush, headache, tremors.
Serious (rare): Chest pain, irregular heartbeat, severe breathing difficulty, allergic reaction.

Precautions & Warnings

• Not for immediate relief of asthma symptoms.

• Rinse mouth after every use to prevent fungal infection.

• Use cautiously in patients with heart disease, thyroid disorders, diabetes, infections.
