Description: Emeset 4 mg Injection contains Ondansetron, a medicine that prevents nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and surgery. It works by blocking serotonin (5-HT3) receptors in the brain and gut, which trigger vomiting.

Uses:

• Chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting

• Radiotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting

• Post-operative nausea and vomiting

• Severe vomiting due to other medical conditions (as prescribed)

Dosage & Administration:

• Adults: 4–8 mg IV/IM before chemotherapy or surgery; can be repeated every 8–12 hrs if required.

• Children: Dose based on body weight and age.

• Route: IV slow injection or IM.

Side Effects: Headache, constipation, dizziness, fatigue, injection site pain. Rare: allergic reaction, low blood pressure, QT prolongation (irregular heartbeat).
