Description: Dolo IV 1 g Injection contains Paracetamol, a widely used pain reliever and fever reducer. It provides fast and effective relief in patients who cannot take oral tablets. It is given intravenously under medical supervision in hospitals for quick action.

Uses:

• High fever (when oral/paracetamol tablets cannot be given)

• Post-operative pain and fever

• Acute musculoskeletal pain

• Headache, migraine, and body pain (in hospital settings)

• Pain/fever associated with infections

Dosage & Administration:

• Adults: 1 g IV infusion every 6–8 hours (maximum 4 g/day).

• Children (above 10 kg): Dose as per body weight (15 mg/kg every 6 hrs).

• Route: Slow IV infusion over 15 minutes.

Side Effects: Nausea, vomiting, injection site pain, flushing, dizziness. Rare: liver damage (in overdose), allergic reactions.

Precautions:

• Avoid in patients with severe liver disease, alcoholism, or allergy to paracetamol.

• Safe in pregnancy/lactation if prescribed by doctor.

Drug Interactions:

• Increased liver toxicity with alcohol or drugs like rifampicin, isoniazid.
