Uses / Indications

Budecort Respules 0.5 mg are prescribed for:

1. Asthma (mild to moderate) – long-term prevention of attacks.

2. Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).

3. Chronic bronchitis & emphysema.

4. Prevention of symptoms like wheezing, coughing, breathlessness, chest tightness.

How It Works

• Budesonide reduces airway inflammation, swelling, and mucus production.

• Helps improve airflow and prevents asthma/COPD flare-ups.

• Not a rescue medication → used for maintenance therapy.

Dosage (General Guide – only as prescribed by doctor)

• Adults & Children (≥12 years): 1 respule (0.5 mg) via nebuliser once or twice daily.

• Children (6–12 years): Dose may be lower, based on doctor’s advice.

• Not for relief of sudden asthma attacks.

How to Use

1. Twist open the respule.

2. Empty liquid into nebuliser chamber.

3. Inhale the mist deeply via mask/mouthpiece for 5–10 minutes.

4. Discard leftover solution after each use.

5. Rinse mouth after use to prevent fungal infection (oral thrush).

Side Effects

Common: Throat irritation, cough, hoarseness, oral thrush, mild headache.
Serious (rare): Severe breathing difficulty, chest pain, allergic reaction.

Precautions & Warnings

• Not for sudden asthma relief.

• Rinse mouth after every use.

• Use cautiously in patients with infections, TB, liver problems.
