Uses / Indications
Cefakind-CV 325 Tablet is prescribed for mild to moderate bacterial infections, such as:

Respiratory tract infections: sinusitis, tonsillitis, pharyngitis, bronchitis, pneumonia

ENT infections: ear, nose, and throat bacterial infections

Urinary tract infections (UTI): cystitis, pyelonephritis

Skin & soft tissue infections: cellulitis, abscess, wound infections

Bone & joint infections

Post-operative infections

Mixed bacterial infections caused by resistant organisms
Mechanism of Action

Cefuroxime (Cephalosporin antibiotic): Inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial death (bactericidal)

Clavulanic Acid (Beta-lactamase inhibitor): Blocks bacterial enzymes (beta-lactamases) that make bacteria resistant to antibiotics → enhances cefuroxime’s effectiveness

Combined Effect: Provides strong, broad-spectrum coverage against both Gram-positive & Gram-negative bacteria
Dosage & Administration

Adults: 1 tablet twice daily, or as prescribed by doctor

Children (>12 years): Dose depends on weight; pediatric suspension recommended for younger children

Should be taken after meals to improve absorption
