Description: Clexane 40 mg Injection contains Enoxaparin Sodium, a low molecular weight heparin (LMWH). It prevents the formation of harmful blood clots and is used in the prevention and treatment of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), pulmonary embolism (PE), and clotting complications in patients with angina or after surgery.
Uses:

Prevention of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) after surgery/immobilization

Treatment of DVT and pulmonary embolism (PE)

Prevention of clotting in unstable angina and myocardial infarction (heart attack)

Prevention of clotting in dialysis procedures
Dosage & Administration:

Adults (DVT prophylaxis): 40 mg SC once daily, starting 2 hrs before surgery (dose may vary).

Adults (treatment): 1 mg/kg SC every 12 hrs or 1.5 mg/kg SC once daily.

Route: Deep subcutaneous injection (never IM).

Side Effects: Pain/bruising at injection site, mild bleeding, low platelet count, anemia, elevated liver enzymes. Rare: severe bleeding, allergic reactions.
Precautions:

Avoid in patients with active bleeding, heparin allergy, or history of heparin-induced thrombocytopenia (HIT).

Use cautiously in kidney impairment, liver disease, uncontrolled hypertension, or recent surgery.

Regular monitoring of platelet count & clotting profile may be required.

Safe in pregnancy only if prescribed.
Drug Interactions:

Increased bleeding risk with anticoagulants (warfarin, dabigatran), antiplatelets (aspirin, clopidogrel), thrombolytics.

NSAIDs (ibuprofen, diclofenac) also increase gastric bleeding risk.

Inform doctor about all ongoing medicines.
