Uses / Indications
Diovan 160mg Tablet is prescribed for:

Hypertension (High Blood Pressure) – for patients not controlled with lower doses (40mg/80mg).

Heart Failure – improves survival, reduces symptoms, and lowers hospitalization rates.

Post-Myocardial Infarction (after heart attack) – reduces risk of recurrent cardiovascular events.

Long-term protection of heart and kidneys in hypertensive and diabetic patients.
Mechanism of Action
-
Valsartan is an Angiotensin II Receptor Blocker (ARB).

Blocks angiotensin II → prevents blood vessel narrowing.
-
Relaxes and widens arteries → lowers blood pressure.

Improves circulation, reduces heart strain, and protects kidneys.
Dosage & Administration

Usual adult dose: 80–160 mg once daily.

160 mg once daily is the maximum recommended dose for most patients.

May be used alone or with other medicines (diuretics, beta-blockers, ACE inhibitors).
