Composition

Each 2.5 ml respule contains:

• Levosalbutamol 1.25 mg

• Ipratropium Bromide 500 mcg

• Sodium chloride & sterile water (excipients)

Uses / Indications

Duolin Respules are used for the treatment of:

1. Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)

2. Asthma (acute bronchospasm)

3. Chronic bronchitis & emphysema

4. Relief from wheezing, shortness of breath, and chest tightness

How It Works

• Levosalbutamol → relaxes airway smooth muscle by stimulating beta-2 receptors.

• Ipratropium Bromide → blocks muscarinic receptors, preventing airway muscle constriction.

• Together, they provide dual bronchodilation for effective and rapid breathing relief.

Dosage (General Guide – as prescribed by doctor)

• Adults & Children (above 12 years): 1 respule (2.5 ml) via nebuliser, 3–4 times daily.

• Children (6–12 years): Dose usually 1 respule, as advised by doctor.

• Children (<6 years): Dose adjusted by physician (weight-based).
  (Use only as directed by doctor.)

How to Use

1. Twist open the respule.

2. Pour contents into nebuliser chamber.

3. Inhale the mist deeply using mask/mouthpiece for 5–15 minutes.

4. Discard unused solution.

5. Clean nebuliser after each use.

Side Effects

Common: Dry mouth, throat irritation, cough, tremors, headache, palpitations.
Serious (rare): Chest pain, irregular heartbeat, eye pain/blurred vision, worsening breathing.

Precautions & Warnings

• Use cautiously in patients with heart disease, high BP, glaucoma, diabetes, thyroid disorders, prostate problems.

• Not a substitute for long-term control medication.

• Safe in pregnancy & breastfeeding only under doctor’s advice.

• Do not exceed recommended dose.

• Store below 30°C, in original foil pack.

• Use immediately after opening.
