Uses / Indications
Gudcef-CV 325 Tablet is prescribed for treatment of bacterial infections such as:

Respiratory tract infections: pneumonia, bronchitis, pharyngitis, tonsillitis, sinusitis

ENT infections: otitis media, sinus infections

Urinary tract infections (UTIs)

Skin & soft tissue infections: cellulitis, abscess, wound infections

Bone & joint infections

Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) like gonorrhoea (in select cases)
Mechanism of Action

Cefpodoxime: A 3rd generation cephalosporin → inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis → bactericidal
-
Clavulanic Acid: β-lactamase inhibitor → prevents resistance → enhances efficacy of Cefpodoxime

Combined Effect: Strong, broad-spectrum action against resistant bacterial strains
Dosage & Administration

Adults: 1 tablet every 12 hours, or as prescribed by physician

To be taken with food for better absorption

Must complete full course to prevent relapse or resistance
Side Effects

Common: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain

Rare: headache, dizziness, rash, itching, oral/vaginal fungal infection

Severe (rare): liver enzyme elevation, persistent diarrhea (C. difficile infection), allergic reaction
