Uses / Indications
Listril 2.5mg Tablet is prescribed for:
-
Hypertension (High Blood Pressure) – lowers BP and helps prevent complications.

Heart Failure – improves symptoms and increases survival.
-
Post-Myocardial Infarction (after heart attack) – reduces risk of recurrence and complications.

Kidney protection in diabetic patients with hypertension.
Mechanism of Action

Lisinopril is an ACE Inhibitor.
-
Blocks conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II → prevents blood vessel constriction.
-
Relaxes and dilates arteries → lowers blood pressure.
-
Reduces strain on the heart and improves circulation.
-
Provides kidney protection by reducing pressure on blood vessels in the kidneys.
Dosage & Administration

Usual adult dose: 2.5–40 mg daily (depending on condition).

2.5 mg once daily is often the starting dose for certain patients (elderly, kidney issues, heart failure).

Dose may be gradually increased as per medical advice.

Can be taken with or without food.
