Uses / Indications
Listril 5mg Tablet is prescribed for:

Hypertension (High Blood Pressure) – helps control BP and prevent related complications.

Heart Failure – improves heart function, reduces symptoms, and increases survival.

Post-Myocardial Infarction (after heart attack) – lowers risk of recurrence and complications.

Kidney protection in diabetic patients with hypertension.
Mechanism of Action

Lisinopril is an ACE Inhibitor.

Prevents conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II → stops narrowing of blood vessels.
-
Relaxes and dilates arteries → lowers blood pressure.
-
Improves blood flow, reduces workload on the heart, and protects kidneys.
Dosage & Administration

Usual adult dose: 2.5–40 mg daily.

5 mg once daily is a common starting or maintenance dose for hypertension and heart conditions.

Dose may be increased gradually depending on BP and clinical response.

Can be taken with or without food.

Should be taken at the same time every day.
