Composition
Each tablet contains:

Losartan Potassium 50 mg (Angiotensin II Receptor Blocker – ARB)

Uses / Indications
Losar-H 50/12.5 Tablet is prescribed for:

Hypertension (High Blood Pressure) – especially when single-drug therapy is not sufficient.

Reducing risk of stroke, heart attack, and kidney damage in hypertensive patients.

Helpful in patients with fluid retention (swelling/edema) due to diuretic effect.
Mechanism of Action
-
Losartan (ARB): Blocks angiotensin II receptors → prevents blood vessel constriction → lowers BP.

Hydrochlorothiazide (Diuretic): Increases urine output → reduces extra salt & water → lowers BP.

Combination gives better blood pressure control compared to monotherapy.
Dosage & Administration

Usual adult dose: 1 tablet once daily.

Take at the same time every day.

Can be taken with or without food.

Do not stop suddenly without doctor’s advice.
