Description: Monocef-SB 1.5 gm Injection is a combination of Ceftriaxone (3rd generation cephalosporin) and Sulbactam (beta-lactamase inhibitor). It kills harmful bacteria and prevents resistance, making treatment more effective.
Uses: Pneumonia, urinary tract infection (UTI), skin & soft tissue infections, bone & joint infections, abdominal infections, meningitis, septicemia, gynecological infections, post-operative infections.
Dosage & Administration: Adults usually 1.5 gm once or twice daily, severe cases up to 3–4 gm/day. Children 50–75 mg/kg/day (as prescribed). Route: IV or IM injection. Dose strictly as per doctor’s advice.
Side Effects: Pain/swelling at injection site, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, rash, allergy, mild changes in liver enzymes (rare).
Precautions: Avoid in patients allergic to cephalosporins/penicillins. Use with caution in kidney or liver disease. Safe only if prescribed during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Drug Interactions:

May interact with calcium-containing IV solutions (risk of precipitation).
