Uses / Indications

Olsar 40mg Tablet is prescribed for:

• Hypertension (High Blood Pressure) – for patients who need stronger BP control than 20mg.

• Long-term prevention of heart attack, stroke, and kidney damage caused by uncontrolled BP.

• Protecting kidneys in patients with Type 2 Diabetes & hypertension.

• May be used alone or in combination therapy with other antihypertensive medicines.

Mechanism of Action

• Olmesartan is an Angiotensin II Receptor Blocker (ARB).

• Blocks angiotensin II hormone → prevents tightening of blood vessels.

• Relaxes and widens arteries → lowers blood pressure.

• Improves circulation and reduces strain on the heart.

Dosage & Administration

• Usual adult dose: 20–40 mg once daily.

• 40 mg once daily is the maximum recommended dose.

• Can be taken with or without food.
