Dosage & Administration:

Adults: Dose based on hemoglobin level and iron deficiency (commonly 100–200 mg IV 2–3 times per week).

Route: Slow IV injection or IV infusion, never IM.

Must be given in hospital/clinic setting under medical supervision.

Side Effects: Injection site pain, headache, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, metallic taste. Rare: hypotension, chest pain, shortness of breath, allergic reactions.
Precautions:

Avoid in patients with iron overload (hemochromatosis) or anemia not caused by iron deficiency.

Use with caution in liver disease, infections, or asthma.

Test dose may be required to rule out hypersensitivity.
