Uses / Indications
Remistar 5mg Tablet is prescribed for:
-
Hypertension (High Blood Pressure) – commonly used strength to lower and maintain BP.

Heart Failure – improves heart function and reduces hospitalizations.
-
Post-Myocardial Infarction (after heart attack) – lowers risk of recurrence and further complications.

Prevention of stroke, kidney damage, and cardiovascular complications in high-risk patients (like diabetes or chronic kidney disease).
Mechanism of Action
-
Ramipril is an ACE Inhibitor (Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme Inhibitor).
-
Blocks conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II → prevents blood vessel narrowing.
-
Relaxes and widens arteries → lowers blood pressure.
-
Improves blood circulation, reduces strain on the heart, and protects kidneys.
Dosage & Administration

Usual adult dose: 2.5–10 mg daily.

5 mg once daily is a standard maintenance dose.

Dose may be increased up to 10 mg daily depending on BP and patient response.

Can be taken with or without food.

Should be taken at the same time daily.

Do not stop suddenly without doctor’s advice.
