Composition

Each tablet contains:

• Amlodipine Besylate equivalent to Amlodipine 10 mg

Uses / Indications

Amlong 10mg Tablet is prescribed for:

• Hypertension (High Blood Pressure) – effective in patients who need stronger BP control.

• Angina Pectoris (Chest Pain due to reduced blood flow to the heart).

• Coronary Artery Disease (CAD).

• Prevention of heart attack, stroke, and kidney complications associated with high blood pressure.

Mechanism of Action

• Amlodipine is a Calcium Channel Blocker (CCB).

• It relaxes and widens blood vessels, reducing resistance.

• Improves oxygen supply to the heart.

• Reduces workload on the heart and prevents chest pain episodes.

Dosage & Administration

• Usual adult dose: 5–10 mg once daily.

• For patients not controlled with 5 mg, the dose can be increased to 10 mg once daily (maximum recommended).

• Can be taken with or without food.

• Take at the same time daily.

• Do not stop suddenly without doctor’s advice.

Side Effects

Common side effects:

• Swelling of ankles/feet (edema)

• Headache, dizziness, flushing

• Palpitations (fast heartbeat)

• Fatigue, drowsiness

Rare but serious:

• Severe low blood pressure

• Worsening of chest pain (rare during start)

• Allergic reaction (rash, difficulty breathing)
