Asthalin Inhaler is prescribed for:

How It Works (Mechanism of Action)

  • Salbutamol stimulates beta-2 adrenergic receptors in the lungs.

  • This causes relaxation of bronchial smooth muscle, leading to airway dilation.

  • Results in quick relief of symptoms like wheezing, chest tightness, and breathlessness.


Dosage (General Guide – as directed by doctor)

  • Adults & Children (over 4 years):

    • 1–2 puffs as needed for relief.

    • Maximum usually up to 8 puffs in 24 hours.

  • Before Exercise (for EIB): 2 puffs, 15–30 minutes before exercise.

  • Always follow doctor’s prescription.


How to Use the Inhaler

  1. Shake well before each use.

  2. Exhale fully, place the mouthpiece between lips.

  3. Press down the inhaler while taking a deep breath in.

  4. Hold breath for 5–10 seconds, then exhale slowly.

  5. Wait 1 minute before a second puff, if required.


Side Effects (common and usually mild)

  • Tremors or shakiness

  • Headache

  • Palpitations (fast heartbeat)

  • Throat irritation or cough

  • Nervousness or restlessness
