📌 Description

Azicip 500 Tablet contains Azithromycin, a broad-spectrum macrolide antibiotic. It is widely used to treat bacterial infections of the respiratory tract, ear, nose, throat, skin, soft tissues, and certain sexually transmitted infections. It works by blocking bacterial protein synthesis, thereby preventing bacterial growth and multiplication.

✅ Indications / Uses

Azicip 500 is prescribed for the treatment of:

• Respiratory tract infections (pneumonia, bronchitis, sinusitis, pharyngitis, tonsillitis)

• ENT infections (ear, nose, throat bacterial infections)

• Skin & soft tissue infections (cellulitis, impetigo, abscess)

• Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) – chlamydia, gonorrhea

• Typhoid fever (if advised by physician)

⚠️ Not effective against viral infections such as cold or flu.

💊 Dosage & Administration

• Adults: Generally 500 mg once daily for 3–5 days depending on infection type.

• For STIs: A single 1 g dose may be prescribed.

• Children: Dose depends on age and body weight (doctor’s advice required).

• Should be swallowed whole with water, with or without food.

• Complete the full prescribed course for best results.
