Uses / Indications

Budecort Respules 1 mg are prescribed for:

1. Asthma (moderate to severe) – long-term prevention and control.

2. Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).

3. Chronic bronchitis & emphysema.

4. Prevention of recurrent wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, and breathlessness.

How It Works

• Budesonide reduces airway inflammation, swelling, and mucus production.

• Improves lung function and prevents asthma/COPD flare-ups.

• Not for immediate relief → works only as maintenance therapy.

Dosage (General Guide – only as prescribed by doctor)

• Adults & Children (≥12 years): 1 respule (1 mg) via nebuliser once or twice daily.

• Children (6–12 years): May be prescribed at lower doses.

• Not for sudden asthma attacks (rescue inhaler like Asthalin needed).

How to Use

1. Twist open respule and pour contents into nebuliser chamber.

2. Inhale mist via mask/mouthpiece for 5–10 minutes.

3. Discard leftover solution after use.

4. Rinse mouth after inhalation to avoid fungal infection (oral thrush).

Side Effects

Common: Throat irritation, cough, hoarseness, oral thrush, mild headache.
Serious (rare): Severe breathing difficulty, chest pain, allergic reaction.

Precautions & Warnings

• Not for emergency asthma relief.

• Rinse mouth after every use.

• Use cautiously in infections, TB, liver problems.

• Do not stop suddenly without doctor’s guidance.

• Use in pregnancy & breastfeeding only if prescribed.

Storage

• Store below 30°C, in original foil pack.

• Use immediately after opening.

• Keep out of reach of children.
