Uses / Indications

Candiforce 50 Capsule is prescribed for mild to moderate fungal infections, such as:

• Dermatophytosis (ringworm, jock itch, athlete’s foot)

• Cutaneous candidiasis (fungal infections in skin folds)

• Pityriasis versicolor (fungal skin discoloration)

• Oral & vaginal candidiasis

• Adjunct therapy in systemic fungal infections (when higher doses not needed or as step-down therapy)

Mechanism of Action

• Itraconazole (Triazole antifungal):

  • Inhibits ergosterol synthesis (key component of fungal cell membrane)

  • Weakens fungal cell wall → stops fungal growth & kills fungus

• Broad-spectrum antifungal covering dermatophytes, yeasts & molds

Dosage & Administration

• Adults: Usually 50–100 mg once or twice daily, depending on severity & infection site

• Should be taken immediately after a full meal for better absorption

• Duration:

  • Skin infections: 2–4 weeks

  • Nail infections: longer course, as per physician

• Exact dosage must be as prescribed by the doctor

Side Effects

• Common: nausea, stomach upset, headache, dizziness

• Rare: rash, swelling, irregular heartbeat, mild liver enzyme changes

• Severe (rare): hepatotoxicity, congestive heart failure (with long-term use/high dose)
