Uses / Indications
Cefakind 100 DT Tablet is prescribed for mild to moderate bacterial infections, especially in children, such as:

Respiratory tract infections – tonsillitis, pharyngitis, sinusitis, bronchitis, pneumonia

Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT) infections – otitis media, sinus infections

Urinary tract infections (UTI)

Skin & soft tissue infections – cellulitis, boils, wound infections

Mechanism of Action

Cefuroxime (2nd generation cephalosporin antibiotic):

Binds to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) in bacteria
-
Inhibits cell wall synthesis → causes bacterial death (bactericidal)

Effective against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria
Dosage & Administration

Children: Dose depends on weight (usually 20–30 mg/kg/day in divided doses), as prescribed by pediatrician

Adults (if prescribed): 100–250 mg twice daily, depending on severity

How to use:

Disperse tablet in a teaspoon of water → mix & give immediately
