Mechanism of Action

Clarithromycin (Macrolide antibiotic):

Binds to 50S ribosomal subunit of bacteria

Inhibits bacterial protein synthesis → halts growth (bacteriostatic)

Effective against Gram-positive, Gram-negative & atypical pathogens

XL Formulation (Extended Release): Maintains steady drug levels in the body → allows once-daily dosing
Dosage & Administration

Adults & Children (≥12 years): Typically 500 mg once daily, or as prescribed by doctor

Reconstitution: Add boiled & cooled water up to the marked line → shake well until uniform suspension forms
