Uses / Indications

Cozaar 25mg Tablet is prescribed for:

• Hypertension (High Blood Pressure) – helps lower and maintain BP.

• Heart Failure – improves symptoms and survival.

• Diabetic Nephropathy – protects kidneys in patients with Type 2 Diabetes & hypertension.

• Prevention of stroke and cardiovascular complications in high-risk patients.

Mechanism of Action

• Losartan belongs to Angiotensin II Receptor Blockers (ARBs).

• Blocks angiotensin II hormone → prevents narrowing of blood vessels.

• Relaxes and widens arteries → lowers blood pressure.

• Improves circulation, reduces heart strain, and protects kidneys.

Dosage & Administration

• Usual adult dose: 25–50 mg once daily.

• Can be increased to 100 mg daily (single or divided dose) if required.

• Can be taken with or without food.

• Should be taken at the same time every day.

• Do not stop suddenly without consulting a doctor.

Side Effects

Common side effects:

• Dizziness, headache

Serious but rare:
