Uses / Indications
Foracort Rotacaps 200 are used for:

Moderate to severe asthma – long-term prevention and control.

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).

Chronic bronchitis & emphysema.

Prevents frequent episodes of wheezing, breathlessness, chest tightness, and cough.
How It Works

Budesonide → decreases inflammation and swelling in the airways.

Formoterol → relaxes airway muscles for easier breathing (lasts up to 12 hours).

Together → dual action for better control of asthma/COPD symptoms.
Dosage (General Guide – as prescribed by doctor)

Adults & Children (≥6 years): Usually 1 rotacap twice daily.

Not for sudden asthma attacks (rescue inhaler like Asthalin needed).

Must be used only with a Rotahaler device.
How to Use

Insert rotacap into the Rotahaler.

Twist to pierce capsule.
-
Inhale the powder deeply through the mouthpiece.
-
Hold breath for a few seconds, then exhale.

Discard empty capsule.
Side Effects
Common: Throat irritation, hoarseness, cough, oral thrush, headache, tremors.
Serious (rare): Chest pain, irregular heartbeat, allergic reaction, severe breathing problems.
Precautions & Warnings

Not for acute asthma relief.

Rinse mouth after each use to avoid fungal infection.

Caution in heart disease, thyroid disorders, diabetes, infections.
