Description: Forcan 100 mg Injection contains Fluconazole, a triazole antifungal medicine. It works by inhibiting the growth of fungi and yeast, thereby treating and preventing fungal infections in various parts of the body. It is given through IV injection under medical supervision.

Uses:

• Systemic fungal infections (candidemia, cryptococcosis)

• Vaginal candidiasis

• Oropharyngeal & esophageal candidiasis

• Urinary tract fungal infections

• Prophylaxis in immunocompromised patients (e.g. HIV, chemotherapy, transplant)

Dosage & Administration:

• Adults: 100–400 mg daily depending on severity.

• Children: 3–12 mg/kg/day (as prescribed).

• Route: IV infusion only.

Side Effects: Nausea, vomiting, headache, abdominal pain, diarrhea, increased liver enzymes, rash, infusion site reactions (rare).

Precautions:

• Avoid in patients allergic to Fluconazole or other azoles.

• May cause QT prolongation (heart rhythm changes).

• Use in pregnancy/lactation only if prescribed by doctor.

Drug Interactions:

• May increase levels of warfarin → bleeding risk.

• Interacts with phenytoin, cyclosporine, theophylline, rifampicin.

• Avoid with certain anti-arrhythmic drugs (risk of serious heart rhythm problems).
