DESCRIPTION:
Glimestar PM1 Tablet is a combination medicine used to manage Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.
It contains Glimepiride, which stimulates insulin release, and Metformin, which reduces liver glucose production and improves insulin sensitivity.
Together, they help control fasting and post-meal blood sugar and prevent long-term diabetic complications.
USES:

Treat Type 2 Diabetes when diet, exercise, or single therapy is insufficient

Reduce risk of kidney, eye, nerve, and heart complications
MECHANISM OF ACTION:

Glimepiride: Stimulates pancreas to release insulin

Metformin: Reduces liver glucose, slows intestinal sugar absorption, improves insulin sensitivity

Combined effect: Controls fasting and post-meal glucose effectively
DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION:

1 tablet once or twice daily with meals (as prescribed)

Swallow whole with water; do not crush or chew

Regular monitoring of blood sugar and HbA1c is recommended
COMMON SIDE EFFECTS:

Hypoglycemia – sweating, shakiness, dizziness

Nausea, diarrhea, abdominal discomfort

Headache, weakness

Weight gain (possible with Glimepiride)
SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS (RARE):

Lactic acidosis (muscle pain, fatigue, breathing difficulty)

WARNINGS & PRECAUTIONS:

Not for Type 1 Diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis
