Description:

Gluconorm V 0.3/500 Tablet is a combination anti-diabetic medicine used in the management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, especially in patients with high postprandial (after-meal) blood sugar levels.

• Voglibose slows down the digestion and absorption of carbohydrates in the intestine, thereby preventing sudden spikes in blood sugar after meals.

• Metformin lowers glucose production in the liver, reduces intestinal glucose absorption, and enhances the body’s insulin sensitivity.

Together, they provide comprehensive glycemic control, managing both fasting and post-meal sugar levels and helping reduce the risk of long-term diabetes complications.

Uses:

• Treatment of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

• Particularly useful for controlling postprandial hyperglycemia

• Helps reduce the risk of diabetes-related complications such as neuropathy, nephropathy, retinopathy, heart disease, and stroke

Mechanism of Action:

• Voglibose (0.3 mg): Inhibits alpha-glucosidase enzyme → slows carbohydrate breakdown → prevents sharp rise in post-meal glucose
