Uses / Indications
Gudcef 100 DT Tablet is prescribed in children & adults (lighter infections) for:

Respiratory tract infections: pharyngitis, tonsillitis, sinusitis, bronchitis, pneumonia

Ear, nose & throat (ENT) infections

Urinary tract infections (UTIs)

Skin & soft tissue infections: cellulitis, abscess, wound infections

Gastrointestinal bacterial infections

Pediatric bacterial infections (mild to moderate severity)
Mechanism of Action

Cefpodoxime (3rd gen cephalosporin):
-
Inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis → weakens & kills bacteria
-
Effective against Gram-positive & Gram-negative bacteria
-

Useful in infections resistant to some other antibiotics
Dosage & Administration

Children & Adults: Dosage depends on body weight & severity, usually every 12 hours

DT (Dispersible Tablet): Can be swallowed whole or dissolved in a spoonful of water before administration (ideal for kids & elderly)

Take after meals for better absorption

Complete the full course even if symptoms improve early
Side Effects

Common: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain

Rare: headache, dizziness, rash, itching
