Generic Name: Canagliflozin 100 mg
Category: Oral Anti-Diabetic (SGLT2 Inhibitor)

Description:

Invokana 100 mg Tablet is an oral anti-diabetic medicine used to manage Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. It contains Canagliflozin, which belongs to the SGLT2 inhibitor class (Sodium-Glucose Co-Transporter 2 inhibitors).

It works by blocking SGLT2 proteins in the kidneys, which are responsible for reabsorbing glucose back into the blood. By inhibiting these proteins, Invokana increases glucose excretion through urine, thereby lowering blood sugar levels.

Apart from diabetes control, Invokana also provides cardiovascular and kidney benefits, making it useful in patients with Type 2 Diabetes and associated heart or kidney disease.

  • May assist in weight reduction and blood pressure control

Mechanism of Action:

  • Inhibits SGLT2 transporter in the kidneys
