Composition

Each tablet contains:

• Losartan Potassium 100 mg

Uses / Indications

Losar 100mg Tablet is prescribed for:

• Hypertension (High Blood Pressure) – for patients not controlled with 25mg or 50mg.

• Heart Failure – improves heart function and survival rates.

• Diabetic Nephropathy (kidney disease in Type 2 Diabetes with high BP).

• Reducing long-term risk of stroke and cardiovascular events in high-risk patients.

Mechanism of Action

• Losartan is an Angiotensin II Receptor Blocker (ARB).

• It blocks angiotensin II → prevents narrowing of blood vessels.

• Relaxes and dilates arteries → lowers blood pressure.

• Improves circulation, reduces strain on the heart, and protects kidneys.

Dosage & Administration

• Usual adult dose: 50–100 mg once daily.

• 100 mg once daily is the maximum recommended dose.

• Can be taken with or without food.

• Take at the same time each day.

• Do not stop suddenly without doctor’s advice.

Side Effects

Common side effects:

• Dizziness, headache

• Weakness, tiredness

• Low blood pressure

• Stomach upset

Serious but rare:

• High potassium levels (hyperkalemia)
