Composition

• Losartan Potassium 50 mg

Uses / Indications

Losar 50mg Tablet is prescribed for:

• Hypertension (High Blood Pressure) – commonly prescribed dose.

• Heart Failure – improves symptoms and survival.

• Diabetic Nephropathy (kidney disease in Type 2 Diabetes with high BP).

• Prevention of stroke and cardiovascular events in high-risk patients.

Mechanism of Action

• Losartan is an Angiotensin II Receptor Blocker (ARB).

• Blocks angiotensin II → prevents blood vessel tightening.

• Relaxes blood vessels → lowers blood pressure.

• Improves circulation, reduces strain on the heart, and protects kidneys.

Dosage & Administration

• Usual adult dose: 50 mg once daily.

• May be increased to 100 mg once daily depending on BP control.

• Can be taken with or without food.

• Should be taken at the same time every day.

• Do not discontinue suddenly without doctor’s advice.

Side Effects
