Composition

Each tablet contains:

• Lisinopril 5 mg

Uses / Indications

Lupinil 5mg Tablet is prescribed for:

• Hypertension (High Blood Pressure) – helps control blood pressure and prevent related complications.

• Heart Failure – improves heart function and reduces hospitalizations.

• Post-Myocardial Infarction (after heart attack) – lowers recurrence risk and protects the heart.

• Provides kidney protection in hypertensive and diabetic patients.

Mechanism of Action

• Lisinopril is an ACE Inhibitor (Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme Inhibitor).

• Blocks conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II → prevents narrowing of blood vessels.

• Relaxes and dilates arteries → lowers BP.

• Improves circulation, reduces strain on the heart, and protects kidneys.

Dosage & Administration

• Usual adult dose: 2.5–40 mg daily.

• 5 mg once daily is a common starting or maintenance dose.

• Dose may be adjusted depending on blood pressure and patient’s response.

• Can be taken with or without food.

• Take at the same time daily.

• Do not stop suddenly without doctor’s advice.

Side Effects

Common side effects:

• Dizziness, headache

• Potassium supplements / potassium-sparing diuretics

• NSAIDs (ibuprofen, diclofenac – may reduce effectiveness & affect kidneys)

• Lithium (increased toxicity risk)
