Description: Magnex 1.5 g Injection is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that combines Cefoperazone (3rd generation cephalosporin) with Sulbactam (beta-lactamase inhibitor). It works by killing harmful bacteria and preventing resistance, making treatment more effective against severe bacterial infections.
Uses: Pneumonia, urinary tract infections (UTI), skin & soft tissue infections, bone & joint infections, abdominal infections, septicemia, gynecological infections, and post-operative infections.
Dosage & Administration: Adults usually 1.5–3 g twice daily; severe cases may require higher dose as prescribed. Children 50–100 mg/kg/day in divided doses. Route: IV or IM injection. Dose strictly as per doctor’s advice.
Side Effects: Pain/swelling at injection site, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, rash, allergic reaction, temporary changes in liver enzymes or blood counts (rare).
Precautions: Avoid in patients allergic to cephalosporins/penicillins. Use cautiously in liver disease, kidney disease, and in patients on blood thinners. Safe in pregnancy/lactation only if prescribed by doctor.
