Uses / Indications

Manforce 50 Tablet is prescribed for:

• Erectile Dysfunction (ED) – inability to achieve or maintain an erection

• Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH) (off-label in some cases, under specialist guidance)

Mechanism of Action

• Sildenafil (a PDE5 inhibitor):

  • Increases nitric oxide (NO) activity → relaxes blood vessels in penis

  • Improves blood flow to erectile tissue → helps in achieving & maintaining erection during sexual stimulation

• Works only with sexual arousal (does not increase desire on its own)

Dosage & Administration

• Adults (ED): 1 tablet (50 mg) once daily, about 30–60 minutes before sexual activity

• Maximum: 100 mg per day (do not exceed)

• Take with water, with or without food (high-fat meals may delay effect)

• Effect duration: 4–6 hours

Side Effects

• Common: headache, flushing, dizziness, nasal congestion, indigestion, blurred vision

• Rare but serious: chest pain, priapism (erection lasting >4 hrs), sudden vision/hearing loss

Precautions & Warnings

• Not for use in:

  • Patients taking nitrates (severe hypotension risk)
