Uses / Indications

Metolar XR 100mg Tablet is prescribed for:

Mechanism of Action

  • Metoprolol is a Beta-1 Selective Blocker.

  • XR (Extended-Release) formulation → maintains steady 24-hour effect with once-daily dosing.

Dosage & Administration

  • Usual adult dose: 25–200 mg once daily (depends on condition & patient response).

  • 100 mg once daily is a common maintenance dose for hypertension, angina, or arrhythmias.

  • Swallow whole with water – do not crush or chew (extended-release formulation).

  • Best taken with or after meals for better absorption.

  • Do not stop suddenly – may cause rebound hypertension, chest pain, or arrhythmias.
