Uses / Indications

• Acute necrotizing ulcerative gingivitis (ANUG)

• Periodontitis (gum infection, pocket infections)

• Gingivitis (gum inflammation, bleeding gums)

• Dental abscess (as adjunct to systemic therapy)

• Post-extraction or post-surgical gum infections caused by anaerobic bacteria

Dosage (General Guidance)

(As directed by dentist/physician)

• Apply a small quantity of gel directly on the affected gums/teeth using a clean finger or cotton swab

• Frequency: 2–3 times daily after meals & before bedtime

• Do not rinse mouth immediately after applying

• Duration: Usually 7–10 days or as prescribed

Side Effects

• Local irritation, burning sensation

• Dryness or redness of gums

• Altered taste (rare)

• Rare: Allergic reactions, itching, rash

Precautions / Warnings

• For dental use only – not to be swallowed

• Avoid alcohol during & 48 hrs after treatment

• Safe in pregnancy & breastfeeding when used topically, but under medical supervision

• Maintain proper oral hygiene along with treatment

• Do not use for prolonged periods without dentist’s advice

Drug Interactions

• Minimal systemic absorption – clinically significant interactions are rare

• Avoid use with other strong topical irritants inside mouth unless prescribed
