Uses / Indications

• Dermatological conditions:

  • Acne rosacea (inflammatory lesions, papules, pustules)

  • Perioral dermatitis

  • Seborrheic dermatitis (in some cases)

• Dental use (oral gel form):

  • Acute necrotizing ulcerative gingivitis

  • Periodontitis, gingivitis

  • Dental abscess (as adjunct to systemic therapy)

• Other topical uses:

  • Infected wounds/ulcers caused by anaerobic bacteria

Dosage (General Guidance)

(As prescribed by physician/dentist)

• Apply a thin film of gel once or twice daily on the affected area after cleaning & drying

• In dental use: apply gel to affected gums/teeth with a clean finger or cotton swab

• Duration: Usually 4–6 weeks in acne rosacea; varies for dental/skin infections

Side Effects

• Local skin irritation, redness, dryness

• Burning or stinging sensation at site of application

• Rare: Allergic reactions, itching, rash

Precautions / Warnings

• For external use only – avoid contact with eyes & mucous membranes (except dental use)

• Avoid prolonged sun exposure (may cause photosensitivity)

• Safe in pregnancy & lactation when used topically, but use under doctor’s advice

• Do not apply on deep wounds without medical guidance

Drug Interactions

• Minimal systemic absorption – drug interactions are rare

• Avoid using with other strong topical irritants unless prescribed
