Uses / Indications
Monticop-BM Syrup is prescribed for:

Asthma (maintenance therapy, not for acute attacks)

Chronic bronchitis & COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease)

Allergic rhinitis (sneezing, runny nose, nasal congestion, watery eyes)

Cough with wheezing or breathing difficulty due to airway obstruction

Exercise-induced bronchospasm prevention
Mechanism of Action
-
Montelukast: Blocks leukotrienes → reduces airway inflammation, prevents asthma attacks
-
Bambuterol: Bronchodilator (prodrug of terbutaline) → relaxes airway muscles, opens air passages → eases breathing

Combined Effect: Prevents airway inflammation + relieves bronchospasm for better asthma and allergy control
Dosage & Administration

Children (6–14 years): Usually 5 ml once or twice daily (as prescribed)

Adults: Dose may be higher (10 ml daily or as directed by doctor)

Take with or without food

Shake bottle well before use
⚠️ Not for sudden asthma attacks → keep rescue inhaler for emergencies
Side Effects
