Uses / Indications
Monticop-FX Tablet is prescribed for:

Seasonal allergic rhinitis (hay fever, pollen allergy)

Perennial rhinitis (dust, animal dander allergy)

Asthma (as maintenance therapy – not for acute attacks)

Chronic urticaria (hives, itching, skin allergy)

Sneezing, runny nose, nasal congestion & watery eyes

Exercise-induced bronchospasm (prevention)
Mechanism of Action
-
Montelukast: Leukotriene receptor antagonist → reduces airway inflammation & prevents bronchospasm

Fexofenadine: Non-drowsy antihistamine → blocks histamine (H1 receptor) → relieves sneezing, itching, watery eyes & nasal symptoms

Combined Effect: Strong anti-allergic + anti-asthmatic relief without significant drowsiness
Dosage & Administration

Adults: 1 tablet once daily in the evening, or as prescribed

Can be taken with or without food

Not for immediate asthma relief (rescue inhaler required in acute attacks)
Side Effects

Common: headache, dizziness, stomach upset, mild drowsiness (less with fexofenadine)

Rare: liver enzyme changes, palpitations, mood changes
