Uses / Indications
Moxikind-CV 1 gm Injection is used in moderate to severe bacterial infections, including:

Lower respiratory tract infections: pneumonia, bronchitis

ENT infections (severe tonsillitis, sinusitis, otitis media)

Urinary tract infections (UTIs)

Skin & soft tissue infections (cellulitis, abscess, wound infections)

Bone & joint infections

Intra-abdominal infections (peritonitis, biliary tract infections)

Septicemia & post-surgical infections
Mechanism of Action
-
Amoxicillin: Broad-spectrum penicillin antibiotic that kills bacteria by inhibiting cell wall synthesis

Clavulanic Acid: Inhibits β-lactamase enzyme, preventing bacterial resistance

Combined Effect: Potent action against resistant & β-lactamase producing bacteria
Dosage & Administration

Adults: Usually 1.2 g every 8–12 hours, depending on severity of infection

Given by Intravenous (IV) infusion or Intramuscular (IM) injection

Dose & duration must be prescribed by physician only

Side Effects

Common: pain at injection site, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting

Rare: skin rash, oral/vaginal fungal infections, liver enzyme elevation

Severe (rare): anaphylaxis, persistent diarrhea (C. difficile infection), jaundice
Precautions & Warnings

Use only under doctor’s supervision in hospital/clinic setup

Not effective for viral infections (cold, flu)
