Uses / Indications

Moxikind-CV 375 Tablet is prescribed for bacterial infections such as:

• Respiratory tract infections → sinusitis, pharyngitis, tonsillitis, pneumonia, bronchitis

• Ear, nose & throat infections

• Urinary tract infections (UTIs)

• Skin & soft tissue infections (abscess, cellulitis, wound infections)

• Dental infections

• Bone & joint infections

• GI tract infections caused by susceptible bacteria

Mechanism of Action

• Amoxicillin: Kills bacteria by inhibiting cell wall synthesis

• Clavulanic Acid: Inhibits β-lactamase enzyme → prevents resistance & enhances amoxicillin action

• Result: More effective against resistant bacterial strains

Dosage & Administration

• Adults: 1 tablet every 8–12 hours (depending on infection severity)

• Take after meals to minimize stomach upset

• Complete the full course even if symptoms improve early

• Dosage must be as per doctor’s prescription

Side Effects

• Common: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach upset

• Rare: rash, itching, oral/vaginal yeast infection, liver enzyme changes

• Severe (very rare): jaundice, persistent diarrhea (C. difficile infection)

Precautions & Warnings

• Use only with doctor’s prescription

• Not for viral infections (cold, flu)

• Caution in patients with:

  • Liver disease or kidney disease

  • History of penicillin or cephalosporin allergy
