Uses / Indications
Nebistar 2.5mg Tablet is prescribed for:

Hypertension (High Blood Pressure)

Chronic Heart Failure (mild to moderate, as add-on therapy)

Angina (chest pain due to heart disease) – off-label use

Arrhythmias (irregular heartbeat) – off-label use
Mechanism of Action
-
Nebivolol is a highly selective Beta-1 Blocker with additional vasodilatory properties.

It lowers heart rate and cardiac output → reduces blood pressure.

It increases nitric oxide release in blood vessels → causes vasodilation (widening of blood vessels).
-
This dual effect provides better blood pressure control with less risk of fatigue and cold extremities compared to older beta-blockers.
Dosage & Administration

Usual adult dose: 2.5–5 mg once daily.

2.5 mg once daily is often the starting dose, especially in elderly or kidney-impaired patients.

Can be taken with or without food.

Take at the same time every day.

Do not stop suddenly – may cause rebound hypertension or angina.
Side Effects
Common side effects:

Slow heartbeat (bradycardia)
