Uses / Indications

Nebistar 5mg Tablet is prescribed for:

  • Hypertension (High Blood Pressure)

  • Chronic Heart Failure (mild to moderate, as part of combination therapy)

  • Angina (chest pain due to heart disease) – off-label use

  • Arrhythmias (irregular heartbeat) – off-label use


Mechanism of Action

  • Nebivolol is a highly selective Beta-1 Blocker with added vasodilating effect.

  • Slows heart rate & reduces cardiac workload → lowers BP.

  • Stimulates nitric oxide (NO) release in blood vessels → improves vasodilation & circulation.

  • Provides effective BP control with fewer side effects (like cold hands/feet or fatigue) compared to older beta-blockers.


Dosage & Administration

  • Usual adult dose: 5 mg once daily.

  • Can be taken with or without food.

  • Take at the same time every day.

  • Do not discontinue suddenly – may cause rebound hypertension, chest pain, or arrhythmias.


Side Effects

Common side effects:
