Uses / Indications

Pari CR 12.5 Tablet is prescribed in psychiatry & neurology for:

  • Depression (Major Depressive Disorder)

  • Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

Mechanism of Action

  • Paroxetine (SSRI):

    • Increases serotonin levels in the brain by blocking its reuptake

    • Helps improve mood, reduce anxiety, and control obsessive thoughts

  • CR (Controlled Release): Provides a slow & steady release → fewer side effects, better compliance


Dosage & Administration

  • Adults: Usually 12.5–25 mg once daily, or as prescribed by psychiatrist

  • Take once daily, preferably in the morning with food

  • Swallow whole – do not crush or chew (as it is controlled release)

  • Dosage is gradually adjusted based on patient’s response


Side Effects

  • Common: nausea, headache, drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation, sweating
